The Old Fire Station, a building dating from around 1900, stands today like a monument to a bygone era – lovingly preserved and in good condition. The ensemble of hose tower and equipment room is a reminder of how centrally and diligently fire protection was organized in the past – right in the center of town, with muscle power, horses, and a hand-held siren. For cyclists: Located directly on a quiet side street between the fairgrounds and the Spreehafen harbor. Ideal for a short break in the shade of the old oak trees. Seating is available nearby – for example, in the small park with the legendary figures. For water hikers: It can be reached on foot from the Spreehafen harbor in just a few minutes. Those who walk around the ensemble by land experience a charming side view of Burg, away from the main tourist routes.
