Calzadilla de la Cueza is a small town in the province of Palencia, with just 50 inhabitants, located in the Tierra de Campos region and part of the municipality of Cervatos de la Cueza. It is a major stop on the French Way of St. James and is also linked to the ancient Via Aquitania, a Roman road whose sections are still visible.

Frechilla is a small and charming village in the province of Palencia, near Paredes de Nava. It is known for its tranquility and traditional architecture. Explore the surroundings of the village, which offer beautiful natural landscapes and opportunities to walk and enjoy nature.

The first place to stop and take refreshments after leaving Carrión de los Condes

The pilgrim reaches this transit station on the Way of St. James (if you follow the suggestions in the Roth hiking guide to the "Camino Frances") on the 16th stage. This leads from Carrion de los Condes over 26 kilometers to Terradillos de los Templarios.

This small town of only about 50 residents is surrounded by hills with open fields and many great dirt trails. In the town you can visit the Church of San Juan Bautista or the alleys. Just outside the town, where the road changes to dirt, is the Hermitage of Our Lady of Arbas.

The population of this town has decreased from over 2,000 in the 19th century to only around 400 today, but it still has some lovely churches and buildings to stop and admire.
