Great views of the Elbe 1 and Elbe 2 masts can be enjoyed from a fantastic bike tour along the motorway amidst the apple orchards.

Elbe Crossing 2 is a 380 kV three-phase overhead power line built between 1976 and 1978 along the Elbe River. It was commissioned in 1978. The line connects the Wilster substation with the Dollern substation. Designed for four three-phase circuits with an operating voltage of 380 kV, this crossing complements the Elbe Crossing, which was commissioned in 1962. TenneT TSO operates the Elbe Crossing.

Elbe Crossings 1 and 2 can be seen from the Lühe landing stage. Elbe Crossing 1 is the older of the two. Elbe Crossing 2 is larger and higher than Elbe Crossing 1.

Slightly elevated, this spot offers a good view of the harbor and the Elbphilharmonie in the distance.

The Lühe landing stage is always worth a visit; it's beautiful here, with ever-changing scenery and large ships to see. Ample parking is available, as well as numerous restaurants offering a variety of delicious options. There are plenty of seating areas and a children's playground, as well as parking for camper vans and motorcycles. Due to the risk of storm surges or flooding, the stalls at the Lühe landing stage are removed in late autumn. When flood warnings are issued, the floodgate is also closed, as was the case today following yesterday's weather warning.

A winter hike along the Lühe dike and landing stage is highly recommended and interesting 👍🏻. Especially when it's below freezing 🌡️, it's fascinating to admire the ice floes on the banks of the Elbe.
