🏚️ West Wall Bunker Ruins on the Höcherberg Discover a piece of contemporary history: an impressive bunker ruin from the legendary West Wall line deep in the forest on the Höcherberg. Between moss-covered concrete and overgrown entrances, you'll experience both history and nature. Tip: Ideal as a quiet photo stop or a tranquil break on your hike or bike ride – the atmosphere is particularly impressive in the morning or in the fog.

🚿 The Elschbrunnen fountain on the edge of the Eichswieser Valley was first mentioned around 1600. Redesigned in 1931 by the "Alpenrose" association, it developed into an idyllic recreational area with a barbecue area, shelter, and benches. Today, the area is managed by the Dittweiler Nature and Bird Conservation Association – especially during the breeding season, the Elschbrunnen fountain is an acoustic experience: Early in the morning, you can hear the song of rare species here. Despite the elk on the fountain stone, the name has nothing to do with the animal itself – it derives from "Elsborn." 💡 Tip: Ideal for a break – if you listen carefully, you can hear not only the babbling of the spring but also the "singing contest" of the surrounding forest.

The water house in the Pfaffenteichwiesen meadows, built in 1909, once supplied the Bambergerhof district with drinking water. Today, it is lovingly maintained by the Christian Scouts – complete with a biotope, information boards, and an insect hotel. 📍 Tip: A place steeped in history and commitment – the project was awarded the Kusel District Environmental Prize in 2016.

This historic water house, built in 1909, once served as a drinking water supply for the Bambergerhof district. Today, it belongs to the Albert Schweitzer Christian Scouts.
