Biniaraix is a pretty Mallorcan village not far from Soller. Apart from the village square, there is not much to discover here. From here you can hike up the Barranc de Biniaraix gorge to the Cuber reservoir

Biniaraix is a typical Mediterranean farming village. The town center and the church of Biniaraix are particularly worth seeing. Both have been declared cultural assets (Bien de Interés Cultural) in the category of historic building ensemble (Conjunto histórico). The town is not overrun by tourists and is considered a gem and one of the most tranquil places on Mallorca. If you go hiking, you will find places to stop for a bite to eat in the small town center. It is better not to go there on the weekend, because then there are a few tourists as well as locals and the restaurants can be full at lunchtime.

The Lluc sanctuary is, in addition to a religious and spiritual center, a guesthouse where you can rest and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Located among the landscapes of the Tramuntana mountain range, many interesting hiking routes also start from here.

The area around the Cúber is a fenced nature reserve. You can park your car right at the beginning of the reservoir. There is another parking lot 200 meters up the road. Sheep, cows and donkeys live near the water and Mallorca's wild goats crawl on the mountain slopes. The view over the lake and the walls of the Tramuntana giants is uniquely beautiful.

If you want to reach/leave the reservoir by bus, you should do some research beforehand, the buses only run 1/2 times a day in each direction in the summer months. Stops are called Cúber 1 and Cúber 2 depending on the direction. It is a super nice place to hike or stay!!!

The Barranc de Biniaraix (Biniaraix Gorge) is perhaps not as well known as the island's tourist structures and major attractions. But the gorge has an extremely impressive look and an interesting history. The village of the same name is also worth a visit.
