The cross of Perelló served as a dividing line between the two parishes of Argençola and Castellnou. It belonged to the Casamitjana farmhouse, to which the owners had to pay rent. Apparently, at the beginning of the 20th century, its owner, coming from doing errands in Balsareny with the cart, was surprised by a storm, and died when lightning struck him. In the middle of the 20th century, a tragedy also happened there, this time related to the maquis. It seems that the family that lived there took refuge for a while in the maquis (among others the popular Ramon Vila "Caracremada") in their house and, when they were discovered, the whole family was killed. They also explain that Caracremada himself died there. The episode is remembered by a commemorative plaque that has been hung on its facade and which reads: "In memory of Ramona Bessa and Domingo Rovira / Of the mas de la creueta, guerrilla base in support of the maquis killed in February 1945 for fighting against fascism, and to Ramon Vila, who died in combat on August 7, 1963.
