Art with surprising insights and perspectives directly on the coast

The Philippe Cousteau Anchor Museum is an open-air monumental complex with free access located in the municipality of Castrillón, very close to Avilés on the Asturian coast. Up to 8 historical anchors recovered from the seabed and others donated are exhibited in this museum. The museum is dedicated to the memory of Jacques Cousteau's deceased son, Philippe Cousteau. Visiting it is an ideal plan to go with children, where they can enjoy the history of these enormous iron masses and the impressive views.

A magnificent viewpoint that rises above the sea. A suspension bridge allows us to access the viewpoint, from which you can contemplate a fabulous panoramic view of Salinas and its surroundings.

The historic center of Avilés for centuries, also known by the nickname "El Parche''. It is considered the zero kilometer of Avilés. The most typical and busiest streets of the city start from it: La Ferrería, La Cámara, Rivero, San Francisco and The Fruit.

The entire route is carried out by a very comfortable paved and tamped path.

A public park located in the heart of the city. The park is named after Pedro Menéndez de Avilés, a famous Spanish explorer who founded the city of San Agustín in Florida. It was designed in the 19th century by the French landscape designer Eugène Belgrand, and was inaugurated in 1894. It is known for its beautiful gardens, large ponds, sculptures, fountains, and historical monuments. It also has a children's playground and hosts various cultural events throughout the year, including concerts, festivals and exhibitions.

Located inside the beautiful Museo de las Anclas (open-air museum). In memory of the late French oceanographer. Before its installation, it was exhibited in the Picasso room of the Unesco headquarters in Paris.

A monumental outdoor complex located at the end of Salinas Beach. It shows a collection of ship anchors, although the highlight is the spectacular views of the Cantabrian Sea. Free entrance. Essential visit.
