Casa Ezequiel, in Villamanín de la Tercia, is a classic stop for cyclists traveling along the N-630 or the Camino de San Salvador. Its fame stems from its artisanal cured meats—chorizo, cecina (cured beef), and morcilla (blood sausage) from León—and hearty stews like cocido montañés (mountain stew) and beans with chorizo. It has ample parking and a welcoming atmosphere: easy access, prompt service, and substantial food. Many cyclists choose it for the aroma of wood-fired cooking and freshly baked bread that greets them upon arrival, and because it's one of those places where you can eat well without being judged for having muddy legs.

The path winds between rock walls, the murmur of the stream accompanying every step. For centuries, it was a thoroughfare for muleteers and pilgrims seeking the north, following the water's course. On rainy days, the air smells of damp earth and heather, and the landscape seems wilder, as if the path itself were reminding us that here, the mountain always reigns supreme.

Declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1931. Its construction began in the 11th century with a pilgrims' hospital, continuing in the 12th century with a chapel and the collegiate church. It has undergone numerous interventions and restorations throughout its long history; the last one dates back to 1963, the work of the architect D. Luis Menéndez Pidal.

Collegiate church of Santa Maria de Arbas, stop and go in to see it, very pretty. It was an old hospital and hostel for pilgrims who made the way to San Salvador.

The descent through this pine forest from the Collado de Gistreo is very pleasant. Nice specimens of pine.

Las Tres Marías are one of the most emblematic and beautiful peaks of the Alto Bernesga Biosphere Reserve.
