Betancuria was founded in 1404 and served as the island's capital until 1834. This picturesque town, surrounded by mountains, lies in a valley in the heart of Fuerteventura, along the stunning FV-30 mountain road. Beautiful white houses, several excellent restaurants and bars, and the Church of Santa Maria de Betancuria make it an ideal destination for a pleasant stay. A definite must-see when visiting the island.
