It takes about two hours on foot from the village of Gavarnie to reach the refuge and find yourself in the heart of this cultural and scenic site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Cabane de Barrosa is a small refuge in the upper Valle de Barrosa at an altitude of 1,745 meters. It is idyllically located in the middle of pastures near the stream and offers twelve beds, a table, chairs and a wood stove. The hut was last renovated in 2015. The path to Puerto de Barrosa also branches off here (path PR-HU 187).
