La Torre de Alcaufar is located on the southeast coast of Menorca, in the bay of Alcaufar, near the town of Sant Lluís. It was built in the 18th century, specifically in 1751, during Spanish domination, with the purpose of monitoring and defending the coast against enemy incursions. These towers had a surveillance and communication function. Cala Mesquida is part of the municipality of Capdepera and is located in the middle of a nature reserve. The dunes surrounding Cala Mesquida extend to Cala Agulla, providing a habitat for the largest population of cormorants and seagulls in the Balearic Islands.
