The Chorro de la Meancera is an impressive waterfall located in the hamlet of El Gasco, in the region of Las Hurdes, Cáceres. This waterfall is one of the highest and most aesthetic in the region, with a drop of approximately 100 meters. The best time to visit the Chorro de la Meancera is from autumn to spring, when the water flow is greater due to the rains. In summer, the flow may be lower, but the beauty of the place is still impressive.

The Chorro de los Ángeles is a waterfall over 200 metres high, directly overlooked by the viewing point that has made it more accessible. It is in Las Hurdes, and belongs to the Ovejuela hamlet, although it can also be reached from Sierra de Gata and in any case you can go by mountain bike or gravel bike along forest trails. The path, especially if done on foot or by mountain bike, allows you not only to contemplate the magnificent landscape of Las Hurdes, but also to smell pine trees, heather and other vegetation. About six kilometres away, there is a signposted detour to the ruins of the Convent of the Angels, which the signs say was built in the 13th century by order of Saint Francis of Assisi. He would have been captivated by nature on his way to Portugal. Today you can walk parallel to a stone alley in excellent condition towards the river of Los Ángeles.

It is a beautiful waterfall that, depending on the time of year, can be almost dry or flow strongly. The trail from Ovejuela follows the river and is not too long or too steep.

The Torre de Almenara is at the top of a short steep climb. The trail can be a bit tricky at times, but it's easy to see where you're going. This small castle has been conquered and reconquered numerous times and has an interesting history.

Located in the region of Las Hurdes in the extreme north of Extremadura and on the bed of the Meancera stream, this waterfall is one of the most visited in the area and rightly so. A waterfall about 100 meters high with easy access, only about 2.5 km round trip from the town of El Gasco.
