We almost missed the turnoff, but luckily we just went up – and it was worth it! Good handholds and footholds are available for the final climbs.

The path is hard to find and I had to turn around because I suddenly found myself on a cliff. I didn't see any stone towers to help me orient myself in this area. The GPS also reached its limits and couldn't guide me to the path. The way back also deviated from the way there, but somehow I got back down and then took the S3 to Roque Nublo. This meant at least an hour wasted, but it was worth it for the view of Ventana de Bentayga and with the category B/C shoes there were no problems.

Quite a tough hike - very off-road and only has a few signs from other hikers (3 stacked stones) every now and then. A beautiful and isolate view as there are few other hikers. In honesty, I'd recommend it only for experts and those with proper shoes. There are many other views which are similar but not as risky. The main fun for me was the difficulty of getting up.

The archaeological hiking trail on the Roque Bentayga offers not only a museum and great views but also impressions of the historical religious place of worship.

There is a free visitor center at Roque Bentayga - with parking. From there you can walk up the Bentaga in a few minutes, which was used as a religious place of worship. Great views from this impressive and historic mountain in the middle of the crater. Hikers should note that the access road is only open during opening hours. There are two barriers that are otherwise closed. Below the first barrier there are some parking spaces at the road junction.

A worthwhile summit with a fantastic view. Be sure to climb and enjoy!

It is very worth going up to Roque Nublo not only to see the rock formation itself, but also to enjoy the spectacular views it gives you from above. The sunsets are incredible.
