7月 26, 2024, L'Illot Rock and Beach
On Illot beach, there is a small island that is almost attached to the beach. It is a beautiful place, with a rugged and wild environment.

The Santes Creus cove is a virgin beach of more than 100 meters made up of pebbles. It is one of the most beautiful coves on the stretch of the GR 92 that goes from Ametlla de Mar to Ampolla.

Although in a protected area, there is a demarcated road with flags through the dunes to it and you can return via the beach except at spring tide

7月 10, 2023, Fangar Lighthouse
The Fangar lighthouse, in its current state, dates from 1972, is 20 meters high and projects an intermittent white light every 12 seconds, visible up to 12 miles offshore. The original lighthouse was built in 1864 but was destroyed during the civil war, being replaced by an eight meter high metal structure until its current modernization. Because of the place where it is, in the middle of the Fangar peninsula, it is one of the architectural and landscape symbols of the Ebro Delta.

Incredibly beautiful place at the mouth of the river. Not much going on, lots of nature. Downside: the railway line and the AP-7 motorway are only a few dozen metres away ;-(

It is very accessible by car (preferably off-road or SUV) as the road has its crumbs. Another option is to park on the cobbled part of Calle Cala Maria and walk down

The beach is made of stones... People who like fine sand are probably not your favorite beach. But it has great charm. Crystal clear water, generally very clean and the entire bottom full of stones, making it a very diverse ecosystem worth seeing. You can see squid, sea cucumbers, sea urchins, all kinds of fish and nemonas.

Near the Ebro delta is Cala Maria, which stands out for the beautiful Mediterranean vegetation that surrounds it. Olive and carob trees create a green blanket over the reddish cliffs that shelter the cove. Undoubtedly, an idyllic place to take a bath.

10月 26, 2022, L'Illot Rock and Beach
Pebble beach to the west of the Illot rock and from which, depending on the state of the sea and the changes that can change the profile of the coast, we can climb without getting wet to the rock in question. Due to its uniqueness, it is quite frequented.

Relatively difficult access beach located between L'Ametlla de Mar and L'Ampolla. The beach also has the presence of a small lake.

10月 19, 2022, Fangar Lighthouse
Luminous tower that indicates to ships the proximity of Punta del Fangar, an extensive coastal peninsula that includes sandbanks and dunes. The lighthouse is visible from much of the Ebro Delta and is one of the architectural and landscape symbols of Terres de l'Ebre.

There is no paved way to get there. You can walk or cycle (wide tires required) along the beach or through the dunes behind the beach to this exceptional spot. The Far stands in a large dune landscape, almost without vegetation and wind-swept. Great contrast to the rest of the Ebro Delta, which is totally green.

6月 18, 2022, Cala Maria
Cala Maria is a small, square cove 50 meters wide by 50 meters long. Surrounded by a landscape in which the mountain is home to vegetation such as olive trees and carob trees, it drains between a dotted orography of cliffs and rocky outcrops. Composed mainly of pebbles and rock, the waters are calm and there is no unevenness to get there. It has shower services as well as signage. It has relatively difficult access both on foot and by car; it is much more comfortable to get there by boat. A good way to get there on foot, if you love hiking, is to get there via the GR 92 route, a well-known signposted crossing through the various cliffs that give shape to this strip of coastline.

As a coastal town, Ametlla de Mar fortified its coastline like the rest of the Catalan coastal towns with trenches and machine gun nests, while monitoring and defending the coast in all those places susceptible to a landing of Francoist troops. The construction of these defensive positions began at the end of 1936 and had its peak during the first half of 1937, with the civilian population itself frequently intervening in the construction, always guided by Republican military instructors. About six km from the town of Ametlla de Mar and the same distance north of Ampolla. In this place there was another machine gun nest located at a height of 20 meters above sea level, rectangular in plan and built with concrete, although it still lacked the finishing of almost the entire roof. It only had a front loophole that looked out towards the sea, while on the southern part of the coast itself there were shelters with a capacity for 70 people.

The wetland of Santes Creus beach was declared a site of natural interest by the Generalitat de Catalunya. This figure not only takes into account the beach and lagoons of this area but also includes the Port de l'Estany, the maritime area up to a depth of 30 m covering the prairies of marine phanerogams and the entire stretch of coast to the tip of the Eagle.

The islet is a strip of rock that goes into the sea but is not really isolated, rather it is a peninsula where you can walk, as long as the sea is not chopped. We find small beaches on both sides of the isthmus with more crowded sandy beaches like most in the area.
