Artificial lake, starting point for many trips in the area

This refuge is named after the Restanca lake, next to which it is located. It is located at an altitude of 2010 metres in the Alto Arán. It has capacity for 80 guests, divided into six rooms. It also has hot water showers, food service and a bar.

This modern refuge is located in an unrivalled location. In addition to offering accommodation, it has an open kitchen, food service, bar, toilets, hot showers and heating.

This lake located at 2339 m altitude is undoubtedly one of the most visited in the Benasque valley, due to its proximity to Llanos del Hospital. All Aragonese lakes are protected as they are included in the Inventory of Singular Wetlands, so any activity that could modify the quality of their waters is prohibited. While bathing is not specifically mentioned, it is understood that bathing with chemicals on the skin such as sunscreen, deodorants, perfumes or creams is negatively affecting the quality of the water, so it cannot be done. The Vénasque refuge is nestled at the foot of the pass of the same name. Bordered by Boums (lakes), it offers a very pleasant resting place by opening an impressive panorama on the valley which it dominates. In total, the refuge offers 36 beds. Starting point for many routes through the Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici National Park. From here we can observe the Valle de Boi and the Presa de Cavallers which we can cross over the bridge.

The Restanca refuge is located in an impressive setting in the Aigüestortes i San Maurici Natural Park, as it is located next to the beautiful Restanca lake which will surely force us to take out our camera. It has WC, showers, food and drinks as well as other basic services. There is room for 80 hikers and when it is closed there is room for 12.
