The Bear Trail in Cervera de Pisuerga is a circular hiking route of approximately 11 kilometres. It begins at the San Roque bridge and follows the right bank of the Pisuerga River, passing through the village of Arbejal and reaching the Requejada reservoir.

The Pisuerga River rises in the province of Palencia, in the region of Castile and León, Spain. Its source is in the Covarrés glacial basin, between the Valdecebollas peak and the Sierra de Híjar, in a place known as Sel de la Fuente.

The hike leads into a valley with around 700 yew trees, some of which are very old. This yew species is autochthonous, so it only occurs in the region (sorry, I'm not a biologist and I'll just keep telling you). In any case, the gnarled trees impressed me so much that I can highly recommend the small tour.

Cervera de Pisuerga is a small tourist mountain town in the heart of the Palencia Mountain, part of the Cantabrian Mountains. The landscape and views will blow you away. An amazing place to bike and explore.

It is worth visiting the medieval bridge that crosses the waters of the Pisuerga river, built in the 16th century.
