Arch of Cáparra, symbol of the Via de la Plata

The San Lázaro Bridge is one of the historic bridges that cross the Jerte River in the Spanish city of Plasencia, in the province of Cáceres. It dates back to medieval times, although the current bridge was reconstructed in 1538. It connects the neighborhoods of San Lázaro and Río Jerte, and the San Lázaro Chapel is located next to its western end.

One of the oldest bridges in Plasencia that in the past gave entrance to the city on its northwest side, jumping over the Río Jerte.

At the top of the Sierra del Gordo on the side that touches Plasencia we find the Ermita de la Virgen del Puerto which gives us beautiful views of the city and the Jerte Reservoir.

A medieval bridge from the 16th century crosses the Jerte river. The bridge connects the old town of Plasencia and the Hermitage of San Lázaro on the western bank of the river. Enjoy the sound of rushing water and enchanting views of the river landscape.

This monument is located in a Roman site from the 1st century. It is indisputable that this arch is the main symbol of this magical place. It is striking that it holds four semicircular arches on various pillars, resulting in a spectacular structure with four faces, each facing a different side (quadrifron structure). It is a unique construction in the Iberian Peninsula.

The 16th century medieval bridge crosses the Jerte River to communicate San Lázaro and the old town of Plasencia. From this point you can enjoy the panoramic view of the river heading towards the mountain and getting lost among the vegetation.

Galisteo Wall, which still completely surrounds the old part of the town, and next to which is the homage tower known as La Picota, considered the greatest symbol of the municipality.
