A beautiful church in a great location. Be sure to visit the interior.

Highly recommended for the price (just under €10). Lots of interesting animals, plenty of animal demonstrations and feedings, but all the explanations are overwhelmingly in Spanish. English explanations are rather rudimentary, and there are only a few panels in German. You just have to imagine for yourself...

The first stretch from Las Arenas is a bit tough if you haven't been hiking for long, so I don't recommend it.

Construction of the three-aisled church, made of volcanic rock of different colours, began around 1520. The late Gothic main façade dates back to the 16th century. In the 17th and 18th centuries, structural changes were made in the Baroque style and the central nave was renovated in the 19th century. The two bell towers were only built in the 20th century. The Flemish retable of the high altar, which was created around 1500, is of artistic historical importance in the interior of the church.

Really good option with beautiful views very early along the climb. That is only one short stretch (maybe 800m) which is on a larger road, but there is sufficient space for cyclists too.

Yes it is a very good way out of the city. Gentle slope, good road condition and a nice view over Santa Catalina.

Beautifully located café right on the picturesque Plaza del Rosario. Great cakes and coffee, but also savory food and beer. Rightly so popular with bikers of all stripes - especially racing bike riders! Definite stop-off tip in beautiful Agüimes.

It is a fantastic place if you want to see a wide variety of animal species up front. The crocodile shows are really amazing.
