The Cartagena Arsenal serves as the base for several units of the Spanish Navy and as a logistics hub for ships calling at Cartagena. Impressively large and worth seeing, the Samson Crane is an industrial heritage of the city of Cartagena and stands as a monument in the large roundabout of the Paseo del Muelle de Santa Lucía. However, even if it’s closed, it’s a nice area with views over the bay and to Portman itself. There are other bars / restaurants down there, but I have never been to those.
