2月 7, 2025, Arsenal of Cartagena
The Cartagena Arsenal serves as the base for several units of the Spanish Navy and as a logistics hub for ships calling at Cartagena. It is one of Spain's oldest naval bases, founded in the 18th century. Construction of the Arsenal began in late 1731 and was completed in 1782 during the reign of Charles III. In the 18th century, the naval base was a significant industrial complex with shipyards and workshops for carpentry, rigging, and metalwork, as well as craft workshops producing ship ornaments and decorations. The Arsenal employed several thousand people in the construction and maintenance of Spanish naval vessels. The naval base was expanded in 1849 during the reign of Isabella II. 11月 9, 2024, Samson Crane Industrial Monument
Impressively large and worth seeing, the Samson Crane is an industrial heritage of the city of Cartagena and stands as a monument in the large roundabout of the Paseo del Muelle de Santa Lucía. It was built in 1929 by the Unión Naval de Levante, S.A. on behalf of the state at the La Carraca shipyards in Cádiz, which earned it the popular name "La Gaditana," although its official name was Samson. From 1930 onwards, the Samson was used in Cartagena to unload the large Vickers guns intended for the artillery of the Castillitos and Cenizas batteries on the coast of Cartagena. In 1993, the Navy decommissioned the Samson Crane, and since 2001 it has stood as an industrial monument near the container terminal in the Port of Cartagena.

11月 7, 2024, Panoramic Lift of Cartagena
The panoramic lift with its modern design has been open to visitors since 2004. The striking tower has now become a reference point and landmark of the city of Cartagena. The panoramic lift takes you to the highest point of Concepción Hill, from where you can enjoy a fascinating view of the city and some of the historic buildings worth seeing.

11月 6, 2024, Palacio de Aguirre
A real eye-catcher. The Art Nouveau building was built in 1901 and is considered a jewel of Modernisme, the Spanish form of Art Nouveau. The restored palace has belonged to the state since 1977 and was declared a "site of cultural interest" in 1982. Since 2009 it has been part of the Museum of Modern Art - Muram.

11月 5, 2024, Plaza de Toros Ortega Cano (Cartagena)
The bullring was built in 1853 on the ruins of a Roman amphitheater. The arena was closed in the mid-1980s. In 2008, work began to uncover the remains of the theater, and the arena (inside) has not been open to visitors since then.

8月 4, 2024, La Manga del Mar Menor
Beautiful, a real highlight, highly recommended. La Manga del Mar Menor is a unique and worth seeing strip of land in the Murcia region. It stretches for about 21 kilometers and acts as a natural barrier between the Mediterranean Sea and the Mar Menor, forming a special geographical feature with its beaches on both sides.

7月 6, 2024, Batería de las Cenizas Viewpoint
There is a car park at the corner of RM-314 and RM-F42, from where you can cross the RM-314 to get to the Batería. It is highly recommended to take the RM-314. The climb is strenuous but picturesque.

1月 2, 2024, Chiringuito El Cubano, Portmán
Great Chiringuito (bar / restaurant) off the RM 314 bike lane. It descends down to the beach nearby. It’s seasonal opening so check before going down. However, even if it’s closed, it’s a nice area with views over the bay and to Portman itself. There are other bars / restaurants down there, but I have never been to those.

10月 31, 2023, Batería de las Cenizas Viewpoint
The Mirador de las Cenizas is one of the most spectacular coastal viewpoints in the Murcia region. It is located in the Calblanque Nature Reserve and offers unique views of the Mediterranean Sea and the rugged coastline. The Mirador contains the remains of old military installations from the early 20th century. Two large, abandoned coastal guns from the Spanish Civil War are still on site and are a reminder of the region's historic defensive position. These guns, also known as the "Batería de las Cenizas", were once used to protect the coast from attacks and invasions. Today they are an attraction and a popular photo opportunity at the Mirador. Very beautiful stretch of road that offers fantastic views of the Cartagena coast. A great region with many options for tours.

1月 23, 2023, Salinas de Marchamalo
The Salinas de Marchamalo are located near the beach of Las Amoladeras and is one of the protected places that are within the open spaces and islands of the Mar Menor (Natural Park). Important salt flats for the Campo de Cartagena that with the real estate and tourist boom were losing their boom and productivity. If we are in the area, it is worth visiting, especially at sunset, since they are incredible from here.

1月 23, 2023, La Manga del Mar Menor
La Manga del Mar Menor is the ideal place for nature lovers. In La Manga we can bathe during the hottest months, rest and enjoy everything it offers us; like the beautiful sunsets or long bike lanes to travel from end to end visiting every corner. At this point we are in the Gola de Marchamalo, the only artificial channel of the five that connect the Mar Menor with the Mediterranean
