Ailette Lake is a haven of tranquility surrounded by greenery. Its calm and clear waters invite you to relax, whether for a stroll along the lake, a canoe trip or a picnic break. The preserved natural setting offers magnificent views of the surrounding wooded hills and the developed beaches.

Around the pond you will see different types of trees, such as oaks, ashes, hornbeams, mountain ash and maples. It's a peaceful pond where you might spot wildlife drinking or swimming. Near the pond you will also find a remarkable oak tree, called a European oak, which is over 300 years old.

The Étang des Moines lake is one of the four ponds that were dug by the monks of Liessies Abbey at the end of the 17th century. Covering an area of approximately 20 hectares, it is home to various species of fish, such as carp, pike, perch, roach and tench. The lake is also a haven for wildlife, particularly birds, such as herons, ducks, coots and kingfishers. You can appreciate the tranquility and beauty of the lake from different viewpoints, such as the wooden bridge or the picnic area.

If you are looking for a peaceful and picturesque hike in Aisne, you can discover the Boucle de l'Etang Montplaisir. This loop trail takes you to the edge of two ponds, where you can enjoy views of the water and wildlife. The trail is largely flat and easy to follow. The hike is approximately 5 km and takes approximately an hour and a half. You can leave from the car park located near Chemin de la Pature. Happy hiking!

Lac d'Ailette is a beautiful lake located in the Aisne department of France, surrounded by forests and hills. It is a popular destination for hiking and mountain biking, as well as water sports and relaxation. The best time to visit the lake is from February to November, when the weather is mild and pleasant.
