The Porte de l’Hotêl de ville or Porte Gallo-Romaine, in Langres is one of the seven gates around the fortified town of Langres, whose origins date back to Gallo-Roman times. The gate was built in 1592, was given a barbican in 1620 and was rebuilt in 1750. The gate gave direct access to the markets and was an important passage for trade.
