A very beautiful castle complex from the early 17th century, which thankfully survived all the revolutions and wars unscathed. The castle can be visited as part of a guided tour, which always starts on the hour. There is also a museum on the history of ballooning. Unfortunately, the castle is currently completely covered in scaffolding for renovation work.

The building dates from the first half of the 18th century. After the Revolution Charles-François Lebrun will acquire the castle. The 18th century castle in the classical style, erected on older foundations, is in the form of a main building, one storey high on a raised ground floor with a central pavilion framed by pilasters of edges, surmounted by a triangular pediment, and preceded by a porch. The manor of Saint-Pierre dates at least from the end of the Renaissance. Two dates have come down to us: the first, 1600, engraved on the lintel of an old door in the surrounding wall; the second, 1617, engraved on one of the dormer windows of the house with the initials of François du Mesnil and his wife Suzanne de Grosourdy. At the end of the 18th century it passed by marriage to the Frotté family, then into the hands of several noble families: the de Beaurepaires, the du Mesnil de Saint Paul, the de Saint-Hilaire, and the Béchevel. The Château de Magny-en-Bessin is a French castle located in the commune of Magny-en-Bessin, in the department of Calvados.
