The Col de la Loge peaks at an altitude of 1,253 meters. In winter, it is the gateway to long and beautiful cross-country ski trails which head towards the heart of Livradois-Forez. In summer, hikers take it to enjoy the serenity of the woods that populate the surrounding area.

The Canal du Forez is 44 kilometers long. It plays an important role in the irrigation of the lands of the plain, since it is the main water resource of the Forez basin. It is ideal for a walk.

The loop around the Canal du Forez is very pleasant and above all within the reach of all cyclists from 7 to 77 years old! The tracks are perfect, to point out the crossing of the Bonson which must be done in the water because the bridge is narrow for the crossing. Be careful on the way back, a closed lock prevents passage on the left bank.

The calm of the Canal

The monastery was built in the 8th century in cinder stones. The current buildings have been restored. They date from the 15th century. The whole is made up of the church (12th and 15th centuries), the Prior's dwelling, the gallery (15th century), the vaulted cellar (13th century) and the chapter house.
