The chapel at the corner of Rue René d'Hespel and the avenue leading to the Château d'Hespel (on the site of the eponymous castle, built in 1885 and destroyed by fire in 1945) is dedicated to Our Lady. On the side walls are an expression of trust ("I trust in your confidence") and a prayer ("The whole fate will be delivered - we will always").

What a beautiful historic farm is the Ferme du Mont Saint-Jean. The farm is now owned by the municipality, which has given it several functions: educational activities for groups (animal park, orchard, vegetable garden, bread oven, etc.), an exhibition space, a reception area, a thematic library and modern equipment for organizing seminars. Here you walk on the old railway bed of the line that connected the Somain station to the Belgian railway network. This line, built between 1869 and 1875, was 57 km long and the last station before the border was Halluin. The main purpose of this line was to supply the textile industry with coal and raw materials. A large part of the line was closed in 1939 and only the Tourcoing-Halluin section remained for passenger transport until 1971. It connected Tourcoing to Halluin in 26 minutes for the 12 km journey. The Ferrain greenway was built over eleven kilometers to connect Tourcoing and Halluin. Near Roncq, this section alternates between rural and wooded landscapes.

Fortunately, the railway line cycle path is now easy to ride. No asphalt, but the surface is mostly well compacted.
