A little shade, a bench, the Seine

The church, like many churches, offers a mixture of many different styles: Romanesque in the towers and transept, Gothic in the choir and Renaissance on the facade.

Known worldwide for housing the superb Vaux-le-Vicomte castle, Melun offers a pleasant and historic stopover. Built on one of the meanders of the Seine, the city is full of historical monuments dating from all eras.

Attached to the prison, this collegiate church was built in the 11th century at the end of Romanesque art. It therefore lacks the splendor of Gothic cathedrals, but is still worth a visit.
