Collioure Beach is nestled in the heart of this picturesque village on the Côte Vermeille. Bordered by colorful houses and dominated by the majestic royal castle, it offers an idyllic setting for relaxing or swimming in crystal-clear waters. The emblematic bell tower of the Notre-Dame-des-Anges church stands nearby.

Although the battery is in ruins, it remains a fascinating place to explore, with ancient cannons and remains of fortifications still visible. It is a site that evokes the region's military past and provides a unique atmosphere, in a setting surrounded by nature and with stunning panoramic views.

The Taillefer Battery was part of France's coastal defence system, and its location on a hill above the sea gave it a privileged view of the entire bay of Port-Vendres and Cap Béar. This battery, although no longer in military use, is part of the region's rich military heritage.
