Continuation of the Rhône cycle route south of Montélimar.

The Prayer Forest near Montélimar on the Via Rhôna is a place of peace and contemplation, surrounded by rolling forests and Mediterranean nature. The artfully designed prayer stones invite meditation and inner contemplation. Along the Via Rhôna, the forest can easily be incorporated into a bike ride or hike. A quiet, spiritual stop that harmoniously combines nature, art, and contemplation.

This is a magnificent 11th-12th century castle, beautifully preserved and restored, a must-see.

Viviers, on the Via Rhôna, is definitely worth a stop. The walk up to St. Vincent Cathedral is strenuous with bike luggage, but the view from the park behind it over the old town of Viviers and the Rhône Valley makes up for it.

The Robinet bridge or Donzère bridge or Robinet bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Rhône at the exit of the Donzère gorge, it connects Donzère (Drôme) and Viviers (Ardèche). On the left bank (Drôme), the bridge starts from the cliff where there is just enough space for the railway line of the Paris – Marseille line and the access road.
