The Saar coal mine canal owes its name to its origins. It was created to transport coal from the Saarbrücken deposit. It joins the Marne-Rhine canal at Gondrexange. These two canals are now bordered by the EuroVelo 5 cycle path.

Zetting is a small charming village bathed by the waters of the Saar, the Schwarzbach and the Saar coalfield canal. This last canal is bordered by a cycle path which is part of the official route of EuroVelo 5. With its architectural heritage, its small butcher-grocery and its lodgings, the town invites you to stop there during a more or less long outing by bike.
