Estaing, this beautiful village is connected to the former president of the French republic Valéry Giscard D'Estaing (president from 1974 to 1981). In 2005, he bought the town's medieval castle. It is a homecoming for him, as well as a tribute to his ancestors, because this castle symbolized generations of soldiers and monks to whom Valéry Giscard d'Estaing was related.
