There is a viewing platform from which you can have a beautiful view of the waterfall. The 'Ruisseau des Morts du Guéry' drains a large part of the plateau du Guéry. This waterfall can be impressive. It is also the main tributary of the Lac du Guéry.

The Grande Cascade rises on the Durbise plateau at an altitude of 1450 m. It crosses a series of old lava flows about 40 meters thick before the stream passes a lava cliff and offers the spectacle already described here in several comments. We came from the mountain and enjoyed this highlight as the end of the day. Easy to reach from the city, but the incline is tough. A trip is definitely worth it.

The panoramas there are splendid. - Magnificent view of the Dore Mountains. - The Croix-Saint-Robert and Croix-Morand passes. - The Grande Cascade with its 30 m waterfall. - Panorama over the Sancy, the Cantal mountains, the Puys chain and the Guéry lake. - The puys of Barbier, Monne and La Tache. - The Rossignolet waterfalls. - The Queureuilh waterfall. The Grande Cascade is one of the water curiosities that overlooks the spa town of Mont-Dore. It rises in the high plateaus of Durbise at an altitude of 1,450 meters to fall into an incredible cataract 32 meters high. It becomes the largest waterfall in Auvergne and, above all, a true natural monument. At its feet, you can simply admire it from the wooden bridge that crosses the river or the rocks that outcrop it. The more adventurous can try the adventure at the back of the waterfall.
