This is one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the Puy de Dôme. Just a few meters from the official starting point of the Puy de Dôme tour, you have a very clear view of the king of the puys.

In this mostly wooded area, most of the views are offered by the summits of the puys. With its beautiful vegetation, this open plain at an altitude of around 1,000 meters allows you to run amidst a pleasant, open landscape. From here, you can see the puys des Gouttes and Chopine.

Magnificent scenery, soft but passable terrain at all times. Smile as there are many walkers.

Chartreuse Port-Sainte-Marie is a former Carthusian monastery founded in 1219 in Auvergne at the end of the Sioule valley. It is located on the road between Les Ancizes and Saint-Jacques-d'Ambur. As is often the case, the trails at the foot of the puys alternate between pleasant forest paths and views of the Puys chain and the Puy de Dôme.

The Montfermy waterfall is in fact not a natural waterfall since it is a penstock dug by the monks on a meander of the Sioule for the installation of a mill.

Remains of a Carthusian monastery, founded in the 13th century. As the site is maintained, it is possible to learn more about this site, which is listed as a historic monument.
