Superb view of the whole region, from the castles of the Dordogne valley to the Massif Central in (very) good weather. Well worth the detour.

Arriving at this point, the village of Les Arques takes shape and is worth exploring. You will notice in this region a glaring lack of vineyards. In 1865, an attack of phylloxera decimated all the vineyards of the region in just 12 years.

Located between Cahors and Sarlat, Cazals in the Lot is well isolated. There are many chestnut groves in the country, and it is therefore quite natural that the chestnut, is with ceps, and foie gras, incorporated into the local gastronomy.
