The Saint-Sauveur chasm is reached by skirting the Cabouy chasm. This marvelous turquoise-colored body of water is a resurgence of the Ouysse River. The place is unreal.

The Cabouy chasm, located near Gramat, is a vast resurgence that marks the birth of the Ouysse. It is one of the most famous cave diving sites in the Lot: the submerged galleries extend for several kilometers and are only accessible to specialized divers. The site is easily accessible on foot, and even without diving, you can observe the impressive entrance to the chasm and the typical environment of the causse.

You absolutely must stop at the chasm for its magical colors

Interesting little museum about Joachim Murat (1767-1815), one of Napoleon's most important generals. He was born and grew up in this village inn. Napoleon Bonaparte appointed him King of Naples.

Early May 2022, done in tandem. A tree across the path but with a portage it's okay. Also doable with gravel without too much problem.

This single track follows a GR (Greater Regional Trail) where you might encounter hikers, especially during the summer. But nothing's stopping you from enjoying it by mountain bike, as long as you stay vigilant and respectful of other mountain users!

Labastide-Murat, formerly known as Labastide-Fortunière, owes its name to Joachim Murat, a native of this village. This flamboyant historical figure was the son of an innkeeper. Under Napoleon I, and thanks to his military exploits, he became Marshal of the Empire and King of Naples. By imperial decree of Napoleon III, the village changed its name on April 15, 1852.
