The Château de Saint-Saturnin, in Puy-de-Dôme, is a medieval fortress built in the 13th century by the La Tour d'Auvergne family and subsequently became a royal residence for Catherine de Medici and Marguerite de Valois. You can explore the impressive architecture and beautiful gardens of the castle, as well as the charming village of Saint-Saturnin, which has a Romanesque church and offers panoramic views of the Monne valley. The castle is open for guided tours from April to September, and you can also stay overnight in one of the guest rooms or suites.

This castle can be seen from afar, as it is perched on a basaltic promontory facing the Sancy massif. This medieval fortress is open to the public every day. Jousts and medieval shows are offered to visitors. Come and discover the daily life of Lord Guillaume de Murol in 1423.

The remains of the castle of Marchidial and the Saint-Jean church dominate Champeix and offer a pretty panorama.
