Steeeeeeep climb, but the view keeps getting better with every corner.

The Puy de Côme is distinguished from other Auvergne volcanoes by its very wooded appearance. Due to its fragility, its access has been prohibited by municipal decree since 2022. However, nothing prevents you from going around it and walking its lovely forest paths.

Below the Puy Pariou, this crossroads delights, as its name suggests, with its magnificent landscape of heather. To the south-west, the Puy de Dôme and its antenna point their nose nicely above the vegetation.

The Temple of Mercury was built in the 2nd century AD to replace another that had become too small. It served as a pilgrimage site for the inhabitants of Augustonemetum, the name of present-day Clermont-Ferrand in the Gallo-Roman era. From the sanctuary, the view of the historic capital of Auvergne is magnificent. It is also possible to admire the south of the Chaîne des Puys.
