climb to Cazaubon church

A little lumpy but very picturesque. Lots of old churches and monuments in the area.

The Castle of Termes is located in the municipality of Termes in the French department of Aude. Today it is a ruin. It was a famous Cathar castle in the Corbières. The castle held out for months against the crusaders of Simon de Montfort.

Beautiful square with half-timbered houses where the church also overlooks.

Magnificent village dating from the 1200s. Beautiful courtyard where you can taste Armagnac in the shade of the arcades. A short tour to "our lady of cyclists" is required thereafter.

Cazaubon dates back to the Gallo-Roman era. Just over the other side of the Lac de l'Uby is a Spa town/area. There are public toilets and water access at the church in the center of Cazaubon.

Small village centered around it's historic church. There is a post office in town, but most of the town's efforts is focused around their rows of Armagnac making grapes.
