The greenway along the Burgundy Canal is really very pleasant to cycle through! Sometimes asphalted, sometimes covered with gravel, it follows the canal and passes next to several small locks.

Vandenesse en Auxois is an ideal place to stop off on the Burgundy Canal cycle route. The village has a lot of charm, a very beautiful view of Chateauneuf and many facilities for passing cyclists.

Pretty Burgundy village of VANDENESSE on the Burgundy canal, well flowered in summer, - at the foot of ChateauNeuf on the mountain side, - its port of barges on the Burgundy Canal, - a picnic area, - restaurants for all budgets ... It is the ideal bicycle / hike intersection point for a visit along the canal via the towpath. We pass through many locks with their lock keepers' houses inhabited all year round and nicely decorated.
