The Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption Cathedral is sublime inside. At the very back of the nave, under the dome, is the Notre-Dame du Rosaire chapel where Napoleon's great-grandparents and grandparents rest.

The central square of Ajaccio, Place Foch has an immense marble statue of Napoleon in the garb of a Roman Consul, bequeathed by Cardinal Fesch.
