The Corsican town of Sagone (Corsican: Saone) with about 800 inhabitants belongs partly to the municipality of Vico, partly to the municipality of Coggia and is located 36 kilometers north of Ajaccio on the west coast of Corsica on the Gulf of Sagone.

What a beautiful entrance

The road here goes steeply uphill, but you are always rewarded with wonderful views.

In this former tobacco factory dating from 1913, a baptistery from the early Christian period was found in 2005. In 2022, the city of Ajaccio created a small museum to surround the remains of a curved display case eight meters in diameter.

This beautiful Town Hall was planned at the time of Napoleon I, although work only began in 1826. The first floor of the building houses the Napoleonic salons, where you can find many objects from the period as well as several paintings and busts representing Napoleon I and his family.

As its name suggests, this palace was the home of the Pozzo di Borgo, a wealthy Corsican noble family. It has now been converted into a hotel.

Peri is a pretty traditional village where you can discover old cobbled streets that have been renovated, a stone pavement and even a wood-fired oven.
