Recologne Plague Cemetery In the 17th century, several plague epidemics struck the region. To protect the inhabitants, the victims were buried away from the village, in this isolated cemetery. This discreet place, without visible graves, is a reminder of the measures taken in the past to limit contagion and the vulnerability of rural communities to major epidemics. The Église de la Sainte-Trinité is a Catholic church in the village of Auxon-Dessous, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. The church was destroyed by fire in 1700 and was rebuilt in the 18th century in the Classical style. The church has a retable (a decorated altarpiece) from 1705 and some tombstones from the 17th and 18th centuries. The church was renovated in the 19th century under the direction of the architect Lucien CUENOT. The church is still in use for worship.

In September 2013, the Auxon-Dessous war memorial was moved about ten meters to a new square opened by the destruction of small municipal buildings. The creation of the commune of Auxons in 2015 prompted elected officials to modify the monument on rue du Stade that year so that the remembrance ceremonies would include all the dead of the new commune. The commemorative plaques were modified to include all the names of the “Children of the village who died for their country”. Two steles were affixed on either side of the obelisk. One for the young people below, the other for those above. The commemorative plaque affixed to the wall of the cemetery on rue des Marronniers will not be removed and will remain as a memorial.
