Le Bateau Lavoir, a charming accommodation at Maison Eclusiere La 34S, is perfect for a stopover on the Burgundy Canal. Please bring your own lunch; there are no restaurants on-site or nearby.

The canal flows south to north. Great cycle path alongside which is suitable for racing bikes as well as touring. Most comfortable at about 50-70 psi with a gravel bike although it’s 99% tarmac. Great for hiking of course but look out for cyclists

Panthier Lake (or Panthier Reservoir) is a 130 ha lake in Côte d'Or (Burgundy, administrative region Bourgogne-Franche-Comté) located in the communes of Vandenesse-en-Auxois, Créancey and Commarin. It is the largest lake in Côte-d'Or and one of the five reservoirs created to supply the Burgundy Canal. It is also a bird sanctuary and is listed in the general inventory of historical heritage.

Here you can get a good and inexpensive snack. Cheese or sausage/ham platter with bread. A glass of red wine with it... perfect.

This reservoir has a sandy beach on the south side. A sailing school is on site, 2, 3 and 4 seater canoe rental, sailboat rental.

A place where the Burgundy canal and the river meet. There is an information board on the cycle path indicating nearby villages (for example from here it is 2 km to Barbirey). Along the canal is a gravel path.
