The Lieutenance is a historic building located at the entrance to the old harbor (Vieux Bassin). It is the only remaining part of the city's medieval fortifications. The building originally served as the residence of the Governor of Honfleur and later became the seat of the Lieutenant du Roi.

The bridge is passable on the cycle lane but I strongly recommend riding on the pedestrian section to avoid overtaking at high speed on the climb.

Ride in the morning if possible

There is an existing cycle path, but there is only a white line separating vehicles at 90 km/h. Danger.

In addition to a remarkable sanctuary from the late 13th and early 14th centuries, the church houses an 18th-century polychrome wooden statue of Saint Sebastian.

It is a very industrial landscape but the cycle route through is well surfaced and generally easy to follow

Honfleur is a very beautiful Norman town with beautiful houses, harbors, small alleys, and many fish restaurants. It's worth spending an extra day here.
