Fléchères is the largest castle open to visitors around Lyon. Raised in one go, from 1606 to 1625 and preserved intact, it offers exceptional testimony to the life of the great notables of Lyon in the 17th century.

Trévoux is a medieval small town on the westernmost edge of the Ain department. In addition to a walk along the Saône promenade or a visit to the beautiful castle “Château fort de Trévoux”, it is also worth taking a detour to the ancient pharmacy museum “L’apothicairerie de l’hôpital Montpensier”.

The imposing castle "Château de Fléchères" is now open to the public and can be visited. But that wasn't always the case - the property can look back on a very checkered history. The castle itself dates back to the 17th century, but was built on the walls of an old 12th-century fortified building. First owned by various noble families, it passed into the hands of a gang of Mafiosi from Lyon in the 1970s. Later in the 1980s the castle was almost deserted and partly looted before being listed as a historical monument in 1985.
