A beautiful village with gorgeous houses and great restaurants. We were particularly taken with the spa hotel.

From the Albula Trail you usually have a good view of the Inn Valley, especially straight ahead to Piz Mezzaun.

The term "Chamanna digl Kesch" comes from Romansh, more specifically from the Putèr or Surmiran dialects spoken in the Graubünden region. "Chamanna digl Kesch" means "Kesch Hut" or "Kesch Hut."

The Fuorcla da Funtauna is a mountain pass located just below the Keschhütte in the canton of Graubünden. Its summit is located at an altitude of 2,595 meters above sea level, between Piz Forun to the north and Piz Kesch and Piz Porchabella to the south. The pass leads from Bergün via the Val Tuors to the Val Funtauna and further via the Val Susauna to S-chanf. Our world-famous railway is an integral part of one of Switzerland's most beautiful landscapes. What began in 1889 with the opening of the line from Landquart to Klosters is today a 385-kilometer-long network of routes in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Harmoniously integrated into the rugged natural surroundings, the railway lines and engineering structures contribute to the charm of Graubünden. In 1888, Graubünden railway pioneers realized their vision of a mountain railway. At the initiative of the Dutchman Willem-Jan Holsboer, they founded the Landquart-Davos Narrow Gauge Railway Company. Ground was broken in the same year, and the Landquart–Klosters railway line opened in 1889. The first steam trains ran from Landquart to Davos as early as 1890. Later, lines to St. Moritz, Disentis, and Scuol-Tarasp were added. Thanks to mergers with the Arosa and Bernina railways, the network expanded. Just a quarter of a century later, almost the entire Rhaetian Railway network was built. The 19,042-meter-long Vereina Tunnel was the last extension to be completed, opening in 1999. Over the years, the Rhaetian Railway has continued to develop, but has remained true to its mission: connecting the most beautiful places in the mountains with fascinating railway lines. Hotel Preda Kulm, Preda since 1899 The hotel was built in 1899 at the northern gate to the Engadin, shortly before the railway construction began. Hotel Preda Kulm is located in a charming valley, in the middle of a mighty mountain scenery, surrounded by flowery meadows and dark forests. Preda is a small, idyllic place on the Albula Pass at 1800 meters above sea level, 7 km above Bergün. It was built in 1899 at the northern gate to the Engadin, shortly before the railway construction began. The Engadin can be reached in a very short time with the Rhaetian Railway through the Albula Tunnel (7 minutes from Spinas); on foot it takes about 4 1/2 hours.
