Small town, pretty houses and view of Frontenay Castle

The information board explains the cycle path: This road is one of the 5 roads in the Jura cycle path network. It connects Dole with Lons-le-Saunier, the EuroVelo 6 with the "voie Bressane", through an old railway line that crosses the "plaine du Finage" in the north and the "Bresse jurassienne" in the south. It's really wonderful to cycle on - it's like flying over the landscape or meditating! The old train stations that have been preserved are beautiful.

Maison des Étangs, before it was a railway station. The house of ponds is the starting point for several hiking trails in the Bresse-Revermont Community of Communes. This castle has passed from family to family since 1444. Since 2018, the castle has been undergoing work and redevelopment by its new owners. You can now find a restaurant and a small exhibition of furniture and paintings on its premises.

The small town of Passenans is located in the low mountains of Revermont. Worthy of the Jura, the town is surrounded by numerous vineyards. It also has the authorization to produce Côtes du Jura as well as the famous Crémant and Macvin du Jura.

This 12th century castle belonged to the Lords of Frontenay, related to the Counts of Burgundy. It is very well preserved and is open to visits all year round.
