Valréas is the main commune of this part of the department of Vaucluse which is called the enclave of the popes. The city is quite unknown and it's a shame, because the richness of its heritage is obvious! This is surely due to the fact that it is not as well served as its neighboring competitors such as Orange, Avignon or Carpentras. It is located in a fairly windy plain between the mountains of the baronies of the Drôme department. Its reconstruction during the Renaissance, allows you to admire today very beautiful monuments such as the private mansions of Inguimbert and Simiane.
