In the Barret valley, the siphon bridge spans the Garon and links Brignais to Chaponost. This bridge is part of the Roman Aqueduct of Gier, one of the four aqueducts created to supply Lyon with water. Originally, ten lead pipes stood on this bridge. Operating according to the law of communicating vessels, the siphon bridge was at the time a technical feat that required extensive knowledge in the field of hydraulics.

This parish church was enlarged and renovated during the 18th century. It has very beautiful stained glass windows made by Nicod and Jubin in the early 1920s-1930s. Do not hesitate to pass the step of the door to see these scenes of history.

Historically this fort covered the communes of Chaponost and Brignais. Today it is a place of remembrance for the 120 people killed on the spot by the Germans before evacuating Lyon. The tour of the Fort is pleasant and offers on its southern slope a great view of Saint-Genis-Laval below.
