Jeanne de Laval undoubtedly left her mark on the inhabitants of the Valley. For example, on 2 May 1471, she granted the inhabitants of the county of Beaufort, to which the parish of "Rouziers" belonged, the privilege of grazing their herds from the moment the first grass was cut for the king. To honour Jeanne de Laval, the municipal council decided to erect a statue in her honour in 1873. The statue is made of white marble from the Pyrenees. Triggered?
