Superb typical village of the Pays d'Auge

Beaumont-en-Auge is the typical village of Normandy. There you can find the traditional colorful half-timbered houses. Flowery streets, welcoming cafes. The town is also ideally located in the heart of a protected natural site. Elevated compared to the surrounding area, the village offers a beautiful panorama of the Touques valley, the wooded hills and the Saint-Gatien forest.

This magnificent church is a bit large to be just a chapel. Dating from the 12th century, it is typical of Norman architecture of that era. Its real name is the church of Saint-Martin de Cricqueboeuf. The name being a little complicated, it was nicknamed the ivy chapel.

The Hospital Lighthouse in Honfleur, also known as the Hospice Lighthouse, was built in 1853 and first lit on June 1, 1857. It was constructed on a granite base nearly three meters high, and the tower, built of white stone, stands 25.5 meters above ground. Until 1908, it was topped with a cupola that housed the lantern; this lantern is now located on the Butin Lighthouse. The Hospital Lighthouse was extinguished in 1908 and put up for sale in 1911. It was purchased by Léo Leforestier, a merchant in Honfleur, and subsequently belonged to the Julian Academy. Since 2004, it has been owned by the town of Honfleur.
