Mende is the most important town in the department of Lozère. It is a really old city, since its foundation dates from - 200 years before Jesus Christ. Its many medieval buildings make its reputation. You will be able to discover, among other things, its superb cathedral which has the strange particularity of having uneven bell towers. The city owes its wealth in part to its production of draperies, and thus became an important commercial crossroads between the Languedoc region and Auvergne.
